September 8th Samar Sarhan
Ms Sarhan, a young Palestinian American, will be back to talk again about the American Friends Service Committee conference in Ankeny that will be taking place October 14th & 15th this year. Samar will also discuss recent developments in Palestine.
September 22nd Panel on Palestinian statehood
Our panel will discuss what the consequences might be if both US and Israel should carry out the promised veto in the upcoming vote in the Security Council, and what the next steps might be whatever happens. Join us as Pat Minor hosts Mohammed Abu-Hasan, Iowa City resident from the West Bank, former Gazan Yaser Abu-Dagga, and Paul Meyer, an anesthesiologist who spends much time in Palestine using his skills to help the Palestinian people.
October 13th Sandra Stevens
Ms Stevens will report on her trip to Palestine in the Spring of 2011 with the Christian Peacemaker Teams.
October 27th Dr. John Dabeet
Professor Dabeet will return to talk about his trip to New York to act as the primary advocate for the Palestinan peolple leading up to the UN vote on Palestinian statehood.
December 8th Clara Oleson
Clara Oleson be discussing the Iowa caucuses, explaining what the caucuses are, why they are important as the first-in-the-nation, and what to expect when you go to one. We'll cover both Presidential preference groups and how we build a platform—the two main activities of a caucus. We'll also listen to Clara regale us with tales of her favorite caucuses and the ones she wish she hadn't attended.
